MUKILTEO, Wash. — Washington’s first new ferry terminal in 40 years will open on December 29.
The Department of Transportation says the new multimodal terminal in Mukilteo is safer and more efficient than the 63-year-old facility it’s replacing.
The project honors the tribal history of the land, the site of the 1855 Point Elliott treaty signing, and features a large gathering hall with a beautiful view and a comfortable place for people to relax while waiting for the ferry.
And the site that formerly housed an abandoned U.S. Air Force fueling pier has been transformed into a waterfront promenade for visitors to explore.
