A new invasive plant has been identified in Whatcom County, and the Public Works Department is asking for your help to weed it out.
Goatsrue, which is sometimes used ornamentally, displaces native and beneficial plant species and is toxic to humans and livestock, and is very difficult to remove once it has established itself.
Goatsrue is now illegal to buy, sell or transport in Washington State.
If you see the plant, you are encouraged to call the Whatcom County Noxious Weed Program at (360) 778-6234.
