BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics finds Bellingham workers are earning five percent less money than the national average.
The BLS report shows the average worker in the Bellingham area earned $23.09 per hour, in May 2017, when compared to the national average of $24.34 per hour.
The most common occupation, retail salespersons, had an average hourly wage of $15.21.
The highest paid were in management occupations at $50.30 per hour.
The average wage for protective service occupations was forty-two percent above the national average.
