BELLINGHAM, Wash. — New Year’s eve revelers in Birch Bay are being urged to keep the new berm safe during celebrations.

Whatcom County Public Works reminds persons attending the Ring of Fire and Hope New Year’s Eve that the beach area is still an active construction site; equipment parked at construction areas should be avoided.

New landscape plantings near Cottonwood Park are also at risk.

The Birch Bay Chamber says this year’s socially distanced Ring of Fire and Hope gets underway at 7 PM.
