BELLINGHAM, Wash. — An apparent “Swatting” hoax sent officers to a Bellingham apartment on a false report of a man not breathing.
Lieutenant Don Almer says a call came into What-Comm 911 Friday evening claiming a man hit his father with a frying pan and the father appeared to be dead.
Officers responded to an apartment in the 1600 block of 22nd Street, but the residents didn’t know what they were talking about.
Officers learned that a former resident of the apartment had made 911 calls in the past.
No arrest has been made because the call couldn’t be reliably traced.
