BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Whatcom County Health Department won’t offer more drive-thru coronavirus tests at this time.
More than 1800 people were tested during the pilot program over the past two Fridays and Saturdays.
But department Director Erika Lautenbach says the model was unsustainable in terms of staffing.
The four days of testing also cost about $126,000.
But she says the volume of people seeking tests shows the need, and they’re exploring other options.
You can still get tested even if you don’t have health insurance.
