MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A non-injury collision on southbound I-5 has closed down a section of I-5.

Trooper Heather Axtman tweeted that semi hit the barrier at the Skagit River bridge and broke the front axle around 5am.

The roadway is fully blocked in both directions between SR 20 and East College Way.

WSDOT says inspectors had to travel from Olympia to inspect the bridge before the freeway could be reopened.

I-5 was reopened around 11 AM.
