BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Parking should soon be a lot easier and safer at Bellingham’s premier mountain biking spot.
The fund to expand and improve the parking area on South Samish Way at Galbraith Mountain got a big boost at a fund raising event on Saturday, October 9th.
The small non-profit Recreation Northwest says a donor gave them $100,000 that they passed along to the Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition to complete the project.
The coalition’s executive director Eric Brown says the parking situation has become a critical safety issue.
Recreation Northwest says the parking improvements have been a cooperative project between the City of Bellingham and the private sector.
