DEMING, Wash. – In an effort to fight child sexual abuse and molestation the Department of Justice awarded Washington $1.1 million for programs in the state.

The Nooksack Tribe will get almost $230,000 for officer training on the Sex Offender Notification Act and on responding to sex abuse incidents.

The largest grant – just over $450,000 – went to the Seattle Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which assists investigations across the region.
