CONCRETE, Wash. – The North Cascades Highway is open, providing drivers with another option to cross the Cascades.
Crews cleared more than 45 feet of snow in some areas.
Drivers should still be prepared for quickly changing conditions and weekday daytime work between Sedro-Woolley and Concrete.
Crews are repairing cracks, potholes and bridge decks before repaving the 20-mile stretch later this summer.
Also, a section of Highway 20 between Twisp and Omak is closed with a long detour in place.
The North Cascades Highway usually remains open until around Thanksgiving.
