The scenic North Cascades Highway reopened to traffic at 1pm Wednesday afternoon.
Vehicles began arriving around 7am. By opening time, 77 cars were lined up.
In typical opening day fashion, cinnamon rolls and coffee were passed around in honor of “The Queen of North Cascades”, Ethel “Tootsie” Clark.
Clearing work started at Early Winters gate on Monday, April 5 and took about 4 weeks.
