LYNDEN, Wash. – Friday night’s ice storm left up to a quarter inch of ice on roads and power lines and nearly 20,000 Puget Sound Energy customers in Washington State woke up with the power out this morning.

According PSE Between Mount Vernon and Rockport there were about 1300 customers without power as of of 3am Saturday; in north Whatcom County, over 9000 customers were without power in Glacier, Sumas, Ferndale, Lynden, Everson, and Sumas, with the hardest hit areas Lynden and Sumas.
The Sumas library has announced it will be closed today due to the power outage.
A winter storm warning was posted through 9am this morning for the
Cascades above 2500 feet elevation.
