OLYMPIA, Wash. –  Flu activity in Washington State remains elevated, even at this late date in the flu season.

The Washington State Department of Health says that as of March 24th, 243 people have lost their lives to the flu this season in our state.

Only one season this decade has had higher flu activity this late in the season- that was two years ago.

Locally, flu has taken the lives of 6 people in Whatcom County, 4 in Skagit County, and 4 persons in Island County so far this season.
