BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Low supply plus high demand only leads to continued price increases,
According to Radio Real Estate host Mike Kent, that’s stating the obvious.
The median sales price of a Whatcom County home last month was over $322,000 – a more than 9% increase from a year earlier.
The number of sales was down almost 14% for the same period.
The Northwest Multiple Listing Service says there’s a little more than two months of inventory.
“Our inventory, at a time it should be growing, continues to get lower and lower and lower. And frankly, I don’t see it letting up,” says Kent.
In a healthy or balanced market, there’s a six month supply.
