BLAINE, Wash. — The Department of Health confirmed the accusations of a major theft by a Skagit County nursing assistant.
Kimberly Ann Stavig was found guilty in January for multiple theft charges, the most serious being theft from a vulnerable adult.
The financial advisor for the elderly Blaine woman under Stavig’s watch contacted Adult Protective Services when he noticed large money transfers in her account and couldn’t contact her directly.
Stavig worked for the Blaine woman from January 2016 to August 2017 and in that time made hundreds of withdrawals, large money transfers and large purchases.
She was sentenced to time in prison and ordered to pay restitution amounting to the $106,000 she stole.
