KENDALL, Wash. — The air quality burn ban in Whatcom County was lifted Wednesday night.

The Northwest Clean Air Agency canceled the Stage 2 burn ban in the Kendall area of Whatcom County now that air quality has returned to normal.

The agency first called the ban on Sunday when cold, stagnant air prevented wood burning smoke from clearing out.

The ban prohibited outdoor burning and burning in wood stoves and pellet stoves that were not officially exempt.
