BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Volunteers from the Northwest are in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas this morning helping people there prepare for Hurricane Dorian.
The American Red Cross Northwest Region has 29 volunteers in the area, while other non-profits and even the state Departments of Corrections has sent personnel to the region to help prepare.
The storm has weakened to a category 3 as it stalls near the Bahamas, but is expected to move “dangerously close” to the Florida coast later today.
