We should expect more unhealthy air along with the heat today.

The Northwest Clean Air Agency has issued an air quality alert for Whatcom, Skagit and Island Counties as smoke continues to pour in from wildfires in British Columbia.

Unhealthy air is also expected in San Juan County and the Olympic Peninsula.

Smoke from fires east of the Cascades is also expected to move in later today.

Currently air quality in Bellingham is rated unhealthy for sensitive groups while air in the Columbia Valley is very unhealthy.

Air quality in Lynden and Custer is rated good currently but conditions can change rapidly.
