RENTON, Wash. (AP) A detective and a corrections officer serving a warrant shot a man Wednesday in an exchange of gunfire in Renton.
Seattle Police spokesman Sean Whitcomb tells KOMO News the man was wanted on a high-risk felony warrant.
Whitcomb says “it’s an understanding that this person may have been armed and dangerous, that’s way we had three people”
The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
Whitcomb says the suspect opened fire on the officers first.
They weren’t injured.
