LEAVENWORTH, Wash. — Officials have closed Highway 2 over Stevens Pass at least until tomorrow.
The Department of Transportation closed the highway due to heavy snowfall, spun out vehicles and avalanche danger.
Westbound traffic is stopped at milepost 99 at Leavenworth and eastbound is stopped at milepost 55, six miles east of Skykomish.
Stevens Pass will remain closed overnight and crews will reassess it at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.
