Federal officials have proposed to designate more than 15,000 square miles of water along the west coast as protected habitat for orcas.
According to a release from the Department of Commerce, the National Marine Fisheries Service released the proposal today (wed) that would add areas of protected habitat from the US-Canada border south the Point Sur, California.
