LYNDEN, Wash. – We’re learning more about a massive two-alarm fire that destroyed a business in Lynden.

Lynden Fire Chief Mark Billmire said that the fire was reported at 11:30 p.m. Saturday night, July 16th, at Bolton Tire Pros.

Responding fire crews encountered heavy black smoke coming from the building.

Chief Billmire said that early reports indicated that one person and a dog were inside the business when the fire broke out, but both were able to escape the building.

As flames continued to spread throughout the building, more engines were called in from North Whatcom Fire and Ladder 5 in Bellingham.

It took fire crews an hour and a half to extinguish the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

The building was destroyed due to the extent of the damage.

Investigators have not determined what started the fire.
