Officials require negative COVID-19 test to enter Canada

OTTAWA, Ca. — A negative COVID-19 test will soon be required to enter Canada.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that as of February 15, non-essential travelers entering the country through the land border, like returning snowbirds, will need to provide proof of a negative 72-hour PCR test before entering.

CBC reports border officers will not deny entry to Canadians, but those who show up without proof of a test could face fines of up to $3,000.

Those arriving by plane will also soon be required to get tested once they land.
