WASHINGTON, D.C., — The Department of Justice is warning about fake post-vaccine survey scams.

Scammers are reportedly creating fraudulent COVID-19 vaccine surveys for consumers to fill out with the promise of a prize or cash upon completion.

The DOJ says the surveys are actually used to steal money and personal information from participants.

The surveys are typically received via email or text message and ask for credit card information to pay to ship the prize, which they never actually receive.

Unless from a known and verified source, consumers should never click on links in text messages or emails claiming to be a vaccine survey.
