DIABLO, Wash. – A motorcyclist is in Harborview after crashing into a minivan on the North Cascades Highway.
The State Patrol said Joel Oestriech of Olympia was riding westbound on Highway 20 near Diablo when he attempted to make an illegal pass and hit an oncoming van in the eastbound lane Sunday morning.
The 63-year-old was taken to Harborview Medical Center. Passengers in the van were not injured.
Troopers did not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
