EVERSON, Wash. – One person is dead after a Jeep lost control, sideswiped a raspberry harvester and slammed into a tree off Highway 9 at Hopewell Road in Whatcom County.
“I came around the corner right after it happened and I saw [the berry picker’s] containers all over the ground and everything,” said a nearby resident who identified himself only as Brandon.
Pictures from the scene show a jeep with British Columbia plates in a tree and a harvester on the road.
The State Patrol says the person who died was in the Jeep.
