BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Canadian woman died in a motorcycle versus car crash on a Whatcom County highway in the mountains.
The State Patrol said 62-year-old Helen Sumner was riding her motorcycle west bound on the North Cascades Highway near Diablo Monday afternoon around 12:30.
Troopers said Sumner crossed the center line and struck an oncoming car head-on.
A woman in the car was hurt and taken to the hospital.
Both directions of Highway 20 were closed for more than three hours.
