One of Bellingham’s finest completed his last day of patrol Wednesday after 20 years of service.
Officer Brian Chissus was hired by the Bellingham Police Department in 2001 and served on the Bike Patrol Team startying in 2006.
In 2009, Chissus moved to the Anti-Crime Team and then returned to the patrol division in 2013.
When asked, Officer Chissus said the most important thing to him was the lifelong relationships and bonds formed with his fellow officers, which will transcend retirment.
In a Facebook post, BPD thanked him for his 20 years of dedicated service to the residents of Bellingham and his 27 years of service in the military.
