BELLINGHAM, Wash. — For the first time in 47 years there won’t be a Ski to Sea race in Whatcom County.
Whatcom Events has decided to cancel this year’s Ski to Sea.
It’ll be the first time the Memorial Weekend relay race from Mount Baker to Bellingham Bay hasn’t been run since 1973.
Organizers say all teams that have paid entry fees can apply them toward next year’s race, get a refund or consider them a donation to Whatcom Events and the other activities they sponsor.
