SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. – Over a hundred puppies were seized in Skagit County earlier this month, but they’re not looking for new owners just yet.

The Humane Society of Skagit Valley said the puppies were rescued from a property near Sedro-Woolley on September 2nd.

KING 5 added that authorities are investigating either a puppy mill or hoarding situation.

The dogs were found covered in waste and severely underweight.

Skagit Humane says that they have been overwhelmed with interest in adopting the puppies.

However, because the pups are part of a criminal investigation, they cannot find their forever homes just yet.

Skagit Humane has received ample help from volunteers and groomers, but donations of cash and supplies are still being accepted.
