OLYMPIA, Wash. – The numbers are in and over 1,800 state workers are no longer employed as of Monday, October 18th.

FOX 13 reports that about 3% of the state’s total workforce were either fired, resigned, or retired as a result of the state’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

So far, the Washington Department of Transportation saw the largest loss of workers, with 462 people leaving.

The state Department of Corrections, Washington State Patrol, and the Department of Health and Social Services also had major cuts to their workforce.

The new data does not represent those who have only had their first dose or who have a religious or medical exemption.
