BELLINGHAM, Wash. – With temperatures set to dip below freezing in the coming days, a temporary shelter will be opening up in Bellingham.

The Whatcom County Health Department announced that an overnight shelter will be open at Civic Field on Monday, February 21st, and Tuesday, February 22nd, from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Transportation will also be available both to and from the shelter from both the downtown Bellingham WTA station and the Bellingham Central Library.

County officials say that more dates could be added, depending on the forecast.

As an alternative option, officials at Base Camp say that space is available at their shelters as well.
