FERNDALE, Wash. — A man is jailed on a slew of charges after Ferndale Police say he led officers on a chase, slammed into patrol cars, drove against traffic and more Friday afternoon.
Police say they were originally responding to reports of a man touching himself in the AM/PM parking lot on Grandview Road when the man sped off onto southbound I-5.
He avoided spike strips and got out of two PIT maneuvers by ramming into police vehicles and pushing past them.
Officers say a third PIT maneuver they used after the driver exited onto Main Street worked because three other patrol cars were there to block the man in.
No officers were hurt and 53-year-old Ronald A. Worthen, who had other warrants, was booked into jail.
Charges include four counts of assault in the third degree, four counts of hit and run, driving while license suspended, attempting to elude a police vehicle, and indecent exposure.
