BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham Parks & Recreation is hard at work finishing up city-wide improvements as summer winds down.
Workers are paving a new concrete pathway to the lower entrance of the downtown Bellingham Library.
Also, the defunct fountain nearby was demolished, and the Japanese garden was revived.
A parking lot and trail is just about to open off Woburn Street which provides another path into Whatcom Falls Park.
Civic Stadium’s north grandstand is getting a new roof, and the track was resurfaced.
And the trail around Lake Padden will soon have a minor detour, as the bathhouse gets a better roof and drainage system.
