NEW YORK, WASH. (AP) – Payless ShoeSource is filing for bankruptcy protection, becoming the latest retailer to succumb to increasing competition from rivals like Amazon.
The retailer says it will be closing nearly 400 of its nearly 4,400 stores as part of a reorganization.
It’s not clear if the Bellis Fair Mall location will face the chopping block.
