Bellingham’s hospital and its parent company aren’t budging in their vaccination requirement for workers despite protests this week.
PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center says in a statement that they believe it’s “imperative” that their caregivers who are able get vaccinated against COVID-19.
They say their stance is aligned with the American Hospital, Medical and Nurses Associations and policies of the state of Washington.
And they say the hundreds of millions of doses of the vaccines already delivered prove they’re safe and effective.
The hospital says they support the rights of individuals to express their opinions outside of work, but the company remains committed to the safety of their caregivers and patients.
