BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A motorist from Lynden got quite the surprise last week as a man on I-5 tried to enter her vehicle from the sunroof.
The incident began when troopers received reports of a pedestrian in the southbound lanes of I-5 near the Lakeway exit Friday afternoon.
As troopers were responding, they received word that the pedestrian stepped out into the right lane, forcing a vehicle driven by a 61-year-old Lynden resident to stop.
Troopers say the pedestrian, identified as Joseph Thomas Woodson, then climbed into the woman’s car through the sunroof.
When troopers arrived, Woodson reportedly got in the back of the patrol vehicle without being asked to do so.
Woodson was arrested for vehicle prowl, disorderly conduct, and possessing a controlled substance.
