BELLINGHAM, WA – An unidentified man was hit by a car on Samish Way Thursday night.
Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Samish around 8 p.m.
An investigation showed that the driver was traveling north when they hit a pedestrian who crossing the roadway without using the crosswalk.
The Bellingham Fire Department transported the pedestrian, a 59-year-old man, to the hospital for emergency care.
The man’s medical status is unknown at this time.
Murphy says rain, darkness and limited vision, along with the pedestrian not using the crosswalk, were contributors to the collision.
