PORT ANGELES, Wash. — Olympic Peninsula tire shops have been scrambling this week to keep drivers rolling through a rash of flat tires.
As many as 300 drivers have limped into shops after picking up screws in their tires on Highway 101.
The Peninsula Daily News reports workers at a Port Angeles Les Schwab store have been working extra hours to fix the flats.
A Discount Tire in Sequim says it’s the busiest they’ve ever been.
The same type of screw seems to be to blame, but a State Patrol trooper says they don’t have evidence they were intentionally left in the road.
