BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Some people on Bellingham’s south side were without water Friday afternoon.
A large water main in the 2600 block of Donovan Avenue that was installed in 1926 broke, causing a the shutdown.
While some areas had water turned back on within an hour or two, many homes and businesses in the Happy Valley and Chuckanut neighborhoods still didn’t have water much later.
Service was not expected to be fully restored until late Friday night or early Saturday morning.
