BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Peoples Bank is collecting sock donations for the homeless in a outreach program they are calling “Socktober.”
Peoples Bank announced Tuesday they will accept donations throughout October of new pairs of socks at all of its branches with the goal of donating 5,000 pairs to nonprofits serving homeless across the state.
In Whatcom County, donated socks will be sorted and delivered to Lighthouse Mission, Lydia Place and Northwest Youth Services.
The bank says it will also donate socks on behalf of people who share photos of someone wearing fun socks on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #ShareAPair.
