BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Someone associated with a Bellingham summer camp has been confirmed to have COVID-19.
Elana English with the Whatcom Family YMCA tells KGMI they learned last Thursday that an individual at the YMCA-sponsored Summer Day Camp at Cordata Elementary School tested positive for the illness.
She says the Y immediately informed potentially exposed families and staff members, contacted the health department, and closed the program for cleaning.
Amy Cloud with Whatcom Unified Command reports 26 close contacts have been identified and referred for testing, 18 of which have tested negative.
Cloud says results for four more individuals are still pending and an additional four individuals have not been tested through the Whatcom County Health Department.
