OLYMPIA, Wash. — A multinational electronics company owes Washington $7 million.
Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced Philips will pay the large sum as part of a price-fixing lawsuit against manufacturers of cathode ray tubes, a part used in older TVs and computer screens.
The lawsuit accuses tech companies of artificially driving up CRT prices, affecting millions of state consumers.
Other conspirators include LG and Toshiba.
Samsung will face trial next month.
