BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham-based Pipeline Safety Trust has hired a new leader to eventually take over for executive director and founder Carl Weimer.
The pipeline safety watchdog has hired Bill Caram as Deputy Director.
He’ll move into the executive director position later this year as Weimer transitions to retirement.
Caram has most recently served as Director of Finance and Development for the Deschutes River Conservancy in Bend, Oregon.
Weimer was instrumental in establishing the Pipeline Safety Trust following the 1999 gasoline pipeline leak and explosion in Bellingham that claimed three young lives.
He has also served as a member of the Whatcom County Council.
