The U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies responded Thursday morning to reports of a stolen Argosy Cruise vessel and threats from the person aboard the ship.

An employee of Argosy Cruises reported the vessel stolen from their dock at about 7:50 a.m.

The Coast Guard immediately began tracking the ship northbound and arrived on the scene at 9:05, contacting the individual on board.

At 9:50 a.m. it was reported the person aboard the vessel began threatening hostages and explosives over the radio.

A crew from Port Angeles approached the vessel after assessing the situation and clearing the area of maritime traffic, the suspect was taken into custody.

The stolen ship has been returned to shore in Seattle, where local police and Coast Guard personnel are continuing to investigate.
