BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Plans are in the works for a winter homeless shelter in Bellingham.

Lighthouse Mission Ministries will open an overflow men’s shelter during cold weather from December through February, with room for up to 39 people.

It will be located in Old Town at the former Drop-In Center of Lighthouse Mission Ministries on Holly Street.

Volunteers will provide much of the staffing at the shelter, some of whom will be from local churches that have partnered with LMM to open the facility.
