OLYMPIA, Wash. — You may have noticed this while driving, grocery shopping or doing just about anything in our area, but patience is not something we have in abundance.
A study from Marchex Speech Analytics looked at more than 6.8 million calls placed by consumers to businesses nationwide and found Washington and Oregon were the fastest to abandon calls when placed on hold.
We’re more middle-of-the-pack in other areas such as politeness and cursing.
Washingtonians are around 20th place in being polite and 30th for how much we curse while talking with customer service agents.
Wyoming tops several lists as the most courteous and the most talkative, but they also curse the most.
