POINT ROBERTS, Wash. — A small section of Whatcom County got national media attention this week as CBS This Morning featured Point Roberts and its pandemic-caused isolation.
Correspondent Chris Van Cleve visited the peninsula and spoke with residents.
Pamela Robertson spoke with him about not being able to visit with her daughter who lives in BC, and about her difficulty in getting health care because of the border closure.
Shop owners also described their struggles as they rely heavily on Canadian visitors.
But Point Roberts isn’t completely isolated.
The Port of Bellingham still operates a free emergency passenger ferry to and from Bellingham twice per week.
The CBS report can be viewed on the CBS News website.
