BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A person was assaulted after discovering a man stealing a gas can from their backyard.
Just after 2 a.m. last Friday a barking dog alerted the resident that someone was in the backyard of the home in the 400 block of Sunset Drive.
The resident confronted the man, who splashed gasoline in the resident’s face and threatened to light it.
They struggled before the man left.
Officers located and arrested Sean Kelly for first-degree robbery.
