BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham Police arrested a man after he allegedly pointed a gun at multiple people, including a police officer, in Sunset Square.
Lieutenant Claudia Murphy says 27-year-old Alexander Reed was seen walking near Safeway holding a handgun last Saturday.
Reed allegedly pointed the gun at a responding officer, making a fake recoil motion.
This prompted the officer to stop his car, draw his weapon, and shout at Reed to drop the gun.
Reed obeyed but was later uncooperative and batons were deployed against him.
Further investigation of the incident revealed he had earlier pointed the gun at two citizens.
He was sent to the hospital and later booked into the Whatcom County Jail with charges of third-degree assault and felony harassment.
